Day 65
The smoke made it so the whole day looked like this. In Carson City, I can see the Sierra Nevadas half hidden by smoke. A guy I talked to said that he was just in the town I'm stopping at tomorrow on the shore of Lake Tahoe, and there isn't as much smoke there.

I just looked at an update on the Markleeville fire. It's bad and 0% contained. It looks as if it's not that far south of Rte. 88. I'm not sure which way you're headed but please be careful. Be a good grandson and don't worry your grandmother. Love, Ronna/Ellen
ReplyDeleteHi Isaac. You appear to now be in the red zone for air quality. If you have an N-95 mask with you for covid, it will also help with the smoke.
ReplyDeleteWere you able to fix your broke spoke? Also, forest fire and smoke inhalation is always a good excuse to take a lift/get a bus for a little ways.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing journey!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are about ready for this to be done! You're almost there! - Terry
ReplyDeleteOn Tuesday, July 20, it now looks like your intended route is straight away from the fire threat, SW towards Sacramento and Davis. Sounds like a good idea- and you've got a 5000 ft drop in altitude added as a booster shot. Good luck and hope it all works out to be enjoyable.
